Is That Plastic Container Safe?

Is That Plastic Container Safe?

The article available at the above link gives some great advice on how to avoid the harmful chemicals that some plastics can leach into our foods.

Here's to your health,

  1. Nice article Andrea - the BPA discussion to me is similar as the aspartame discussion in the food industry - lots of research done that often contradicts one another. More and more countries are banning BPA (or at least for use in plastics to feed infants) and lots of research is being done to find at least a BPA free replacement for can liners.
As for the use of plastics to eat food out of, there is also the symbol of the cup and fork that should be on there (at least in Europe, don't know if it is mandatory in the US).
But as stated in the article, using plastics for food purposes is still less bad than smoking etc.

  2. Hello Ives and thank you for your comment. You make a good point about "using plastics for food purposes" being "less bad than smoking, etc." I agree.
